About UMOJA Inc.

UMOJA Inc., a 501(c) 3 organization, was established on July 17, 1995 by a group of volunteer concerned citizens of East Tampa. Over the past 28 years, UMOJA Inc. has provided services to youth and their families providing access to nutritious food and academic tutoring. The organization also hosts seasonal community wide events such as health fairs and holiday celebrations.

The mission of UMOJA Inc. is to create and provide quality programs and services that help to close the ever-present socio-economic and equity gap that exists in targeted African American and other under-served minority communities of the Tampa Bay Area.

We partner with a variety of organizations and businesses in our community to provide comprehensive community resources. Such partner include League of Nonprofits, The Children's Board, and St. Luke AME Church.
